Job description

Cloud Application Deployment and Migration Specialist (Mid-Level, Senior or Lead) **Sign on Bonus Potential**

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Cloud Application Deployment and Migration Specialist (Mid-Level, Senior or Lead) to join the team in Berkeley, MO; Seattle, WA; or Daytona Beach, FL.

This role will support the migration, deployment, integration, and ongoing operational sustainment of enterprise applications in Microsoft Azure cloud. Activities include migrating existing on-premises applications to the cloud, deploying new applications and toolchain components to the cloud, and establishing reliable operational practices for cloud-hosted services.

As both an individual contributor and technical leader, this position will work closely with infrastructure, platform, vendor, database, and functional teams to prepare applications for cloud hosting, coordinate environment requirements, execute migrations, and sustain production operations.

The applications supported in this role are primarily commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), open source (OSS), and enterprise toolchain platforms, rather than custom software developed from scratch.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute migration of on-premise applications into Microsoft Azure-based environments

  • Perform dependency identification, readiness assessments, and migration cutover planning

  • Deploy and configure net new COTS, OSS, and enterprise toolchain applications

  • Support application installation, configuration, integration, upgrades, patching, and sustainment

  • Develop and maintain deployment automation, configuration-as-code, and infrastructure-as-code artifacts

  • Support environment promotion, release coordination, and rollback procedures

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:

    • Application hosting

    • Performance

    • Service availability

    • Integrations

  • Authentication/authorization

  • Coordinate with vendors, infrastructure teams, platform teams, database teams, and functional stakeholders

  • Support data migration, storage migration, and environment cutover activities

  • Establish operational procedures including:

    • Maintenance windows

    • Health monitoring

    • Support documentation

    • Upgrade planning

  • Assist in evaluating hosting models including:

    • Virtual machines

    • Kubernetes

    • Containers

    • Managed services

    • Hybrid patterns

  • Provide technical mentorship to junior team members

BasicQualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)

  • 4+ years of experience with computing administration to include managing Microsoft active directory design, deploy and operational support

  • 3+ years of experience deploying, administering, migrating, or operating enterprise applications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and/or other developed software applications

  • 3+ years of experience designing architecture with industry standard security technologies and solutions (e.g. encryption (PGP), certificates (x509), MFA/2FA, and SAML/SSO/IDaaS.)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field

  • Experience migrating enterprise applications from on-premises or VM-based environments into Microsoft Azure

  • Experience supporting platforms like Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Artifactory, SonarQube, and/or PLM/MOM/ERP

  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or Helm

  • Experience with database migrations and storage cutover planning

  • Experience with vendor-led enterprise application deployments

  • Current certifications such as Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect and/or AWS Solutions Architect

Summary pay range for Mid-Level: $104,550 - $162,150

Summary pay range for Senior: $127,500 - $197,800

Summary pay range for Lead: $153,000 - $239,200

Potential signing bonus for eligible/qualified external candidates.
