Job description

Shamrock Business Consulting is a direct-hire recruiting firm focused exclusively on the power, construction, and mission-critical industries. We partner with electrical testing, engineering, and utility-services companies across the country to connect them with technicians who keep the grid running safely. When you apply through Shamrock, you work directly with a recruiter who understands the trade and will walk you through the process from first call to first day — no resume black hole, no runaround.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Twelve months in, success looks like independently running the most complex investigations and commissioning projects on the books, supervising multiple crews at once, and being the technical point of contact clients trust to get it right the first time.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Independently plan, lead, and execute complex testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting projects on high-voltage systems, including substations

  • Supervise multiple crews and technicians across concurrent job sites

  • Conduct root-cause investigations on equipment failures and prepare detailed written findings

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients on assigned projects

  • Review and approve test data, procedures, and reports prepared by junior technicians

  • Mentor and help develop Level I–III technicians toward certification

  • Ensure full compliance with NETA, NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards across all assigned projects in the Treasure Valley

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required:

  • NETA Level IV certification (10 years of related field experience, 104 hours safety training, 600 hours electrical training)

  • Proven track record independently leading complex commissioning and testing projects

  • Strong written communication skills for technical reporting

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites in the region

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or higher in electrical engineering technology, or equivalent experience

  • Experience with substation commissioning or utility-scale projects

  • Prior supervisory or crew-lead experience

HOW TO APPLY

Apply directly on LinkedIn, or send your resume and NETA certification to Lance Mooney at lmooney@shamrock-consulting.net or 208-449-3698. All inquiries are confidential.
