Job description

Senior.NET Developer

We are seeking a full-time, backend-focused Senior.NET Developer to support application modernization initiatives and ongoing maintenance of legacy systems. This role requires a hands-on engineer with strong experience in modern backend technologies, containerized environments, and CI/CD pipelines, as well as the ability to lead and mentor other developers.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the analysis, design, and development of system modernization efforts
  • Support and enhance existing legacy applications
  • Lead and contribute to Agile development activities, including standups, user stories, backlog grooming, and task execution
  • Build, maintain, and enhance backend services using.NET (C#), GraphQL, and relational databases
  • Contribute to and support CI/CD pipeline development and deployment processes
  • Implement and maintain containerized solutions and troubleshoot deployment issues
  • Design and implement unit tests, review load testing results, and identify performance bottlenecks
  • Troubleshoot defects and recommend system optimizations and enhancements
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and a small development team, providing technical guidance and mentorship

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a software engineer in backend development
  • Strong experience building applications using.NET (C#)
  • Experience developing and maintaining GraphQL APIs
  • Experience with Postgres and/or MSSQL databases
  • Experience designing and maintaining data models and schemas
  • Experience serving as a senior or lead engineer on development projects
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Docker/containerization, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while mentoring junior developers
  • Strong experience gathering requirements and working directly with stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with legislative systems or legislative data
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure
  • Familiarity with MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express, Angular, Node.js) and/or React.js

Location Capitol Hill, Washington D.C. Some work may be performed off-site with approval and at the discretion of the POC.
