Job description

We're looking for a Staff Integration & Application Developer to join Procore's Finance and Legal Technologies team In this role, you'll join our global team and serve as the technical leader of our Finance application landscape.

As a Staff Integration & Application Developer you'll partner with Business Systems Analysts, Product Owners, & Product Managers to serve as the primary architect and technical lead for our global Finance SaaS landscape. Finally, As a "builder-leader," you will serve as the primary architect for our global Finance SaaS landscape. You will specifically leverage Workato AI Agents to accelerate the development lifecycle, ensuring our integration ecosystem is not only scalable and resilient but also driven by AI-assisted governance and error-handling frameworks.

Beyond high-level development, you will establish the foundational "Golden Rules" for our integration team-defining our code governance, error-handling frameworks, and knowledge management standards to ensure our ecosystem is scalable, auditable, and resilient.

This position reports into Director of Finance and Legal Technologies and will be based in our Austin, TX office. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you'll do:

  • At Procore, AI isn't a specialized tool, it's a core competency. We expect every team member to be AI-literate, leveraging generative tools and agentic workflows to move faster and work smarter. You won't just use AI; you'll be building the agentic future of construction.

1. Architectural Leadership & Governance

  • Define Standards: Establish and enforce best practices for code governance, naming conventions, and reusable components across Workato and other middleware.

  • Knowledge Management: Build and maintain the "Source of Truth" documentation library (technical maps, ERDs, and logic flows) to ensure no single point of failure in team knowledge.

  • Error Handling Frameworks: Design standardized debugging procedures and automated alerting triggers that the offshore team will use to maintain system health.

  • AI-Assisted Development: Use Workato AI Agents to rapidly build, test, and iterate on complex recipes, while utilizing AI to evaluate existing code against our "Golden Rules" for governance.

  • Automated Observability: Implement AI-driven job monitoring and error-handling triggers that proactively identify anomalies in data flows across NetSuite, Salesforce, and Zuora.

2. Finance Ecosystem Management

  • End-to-End Workstreams: Own the technical integrity of integrations connecting NetSuite, Salesforce, Zuora, Certinia, Coupa, and Zip.

  • Complex Build-outs: Lead the implementation of high-logic integrations, such as automated revenue recognition triggers or complex multi-currency reconciliations.

  • Strategic Consulting: Partner with Finance and Business Systems stakeholders to translate "big picture" financial goals into technical roadmaps.

3. Mentorship & Team Scaling

  • Technical Oversight: Act as the escalation point and mentor for junior/offshore developers, performing code reviews to ensure alignment with global standards.

  • Process Optimization: Refine our Agile delivery model, ensuring 2-week sprints are backed by clear Jira stories and accurate Level of Effort (LOE) estimations.

What we're looking for:

  • 7+ Years Experience: Extensive background in integration engineering, specifically within the Finance/FinTech domain.

  • Middleware Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Workato is required; experience with MuleSoft, Boomi, or SnapLogic is a plus.

  • Modern Middleware Mastery: Expert proficiency in Workato, with a specific focus on using its AI-native features to streamline development and automate technical documentation.

  • Code Innovation: Demonstrated ability to use AI as a pair-programmer to optimize SQL queries, JavaScript/Python scripts, and API mappings.

  • Finance Process Fluency: Deep understanding of financial data objects (Invoices, GL Strings, Purchase Orders, Revenue Schedules) and how they transit between SaaS platforms.

  • Technical Stack: Advanced Python or JavaScript for custom scripting, expert SQL, and deep experience with REST/SOAP/Webhooks.

  • Communication: Exceptional ability to influence both technical developers and non-technical finance executives.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range:

137,040.00 - 188,430.00 USD Annual
