Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW:

A leading technology organization is seeking a Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineer (RF Design) to support RF and communication systems. This role focuses on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and supporting product development and production for complex electronic systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in RF systems, including transmitter and receiver design, and will work cross-functionally to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to RF, analog, assembly, SMT, and testing
  • Perform root cause analysis at the component level using simulation and experimentation
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, leading technical investigations
  • Mitigate component shortages by qualifying alternative components or redesigning circuits and assemblies
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to transition new products into production
  • Support design engineering by implementing circuit changes during product development and launch phases
  • Troubleshoot units, modules, and circuit boards down to the component level
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting skills, including RF and analog circuits
  • Ability to design and conduct engineering experiments and interpret results
  • Experience with circuit design and analysis using tools such as ADS and MATLAB
  • Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators
  • Ability to analyze designs and communicate technical findings effectively
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or
  • Graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or
  • 10 or more years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience working with RF systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with tactical radio systems and power amplifier hardware
  • Strong troubleshooting experience at the component level
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, ADS, and Jira
COMPENSATION:

In compliance with New York pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this position is $100,000–$145,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
