Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support, ad-hoc requests, and maintenance of assigned systems and applications.
  • Handle complex application features, enhancements, and technical design tasks.
  • Assist in achieving departmental technical goals and project objectives.
  • Analyze project requirements and develop technical specifications.
  • Develop, test, debug, and implement code for existing or proposed business applications.
  • Work independently in a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
  • Lead small projects or assignments and take full ownership with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare procedural and code documentation for assigned work.
  • Participate in the full SDLC, including development, QA, and implementation.
  • Provide implementation coverage and production support for mainframe code changes.
  • Participate in production incident management calls when required.
  • Collaborate with business users and technical leads to translate requirements into functional and technical specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience coding and debugging on Mainframe platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • COBOL SQL, CICS, debugging, and utilities
    • JCL/PROC, VSAM, SYNCSORT, file-based interfaces
    • DB2/SQL and relational database concepts
  • Proficiency with mainframe tools such as Xpediter, Intertest, etc.
  • Solid understanding of CA-Scheduler and IBM utilities.
  • Knowledge of MQSeries coding in both batch and CICS environments.
  • XML knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
