We are seeking an ambitious Junior Microsoft 365 Administrator and IT Support Technician to join our team in Merced, California. This role is an exceptional growth opportunity designed for a professional with foundational IT knowledge and minimal professional experience who is eager to step up and scale into a comprehensive systems administrator position.

In this role, you will take ownership of our day-to-day IT support, hardware deployment, and user lifecycle management while being mentored to act as our primary internal safeguard for cloud infrastructure, account structures, and data security.

Core Responsibilities

  • Data Security Advocacy: Serve as the lead champion of the Company's data and cybersecurity programs, protecting and maintaining the integrity of information systems, data storage/transfer, electronic devices, and domains.
  • Microsoft & Identity Administration: Administer Microsoft accounts (Entra ID, Azure, M365, and associated apps). Maintain and protect company domains and their integrations.
  • Policy & Hierarchy Architecture: Develop and update backend Microsoft structures (Entra, Azure, Teams, etc.), configurations, and hierarchies to enforce proper access control and restrictions tailored to different employee classes.
  • Apple Ecosystem Management: Administer the company's managed Apple accounts while maintaining and updating institutional Apple policies and MDM structures.
  • User Lifecycle Automation: Execute full onboarding and offboarding workflows for employee access across Microsoft, Apple, Rippling, Adobe, and other corporate applications.
  • Asset & License Tracking: Maintain a rigorous, up-to-date inventory and assignment ledger of all hardware (phones, computers, peripheral devices) and software assets (applications and active licenses).
  • Access Control: Assign, audit, or revoke software licenses and data access permissions based strictly on established employee roles and business needs.
  • Strategic IT Advisory: Support and advise executive leadership on technical vendor selections, brand standards, hardware/equipment procurement, and software information systems.
  • Compliance & Client Audits: Support and advise on critical annual updates regarding cybersecurity threat matrices. Help facilitate annual cybersecurity audits for utility clients and provide utility contract teams with required compliance documentation.
  • Threat Monitoring & Auditing: Conduct daily and weekly security audits, review potential threat alerts (including email phishing campaigns), and report issues immediately to safety leadership.
  • Security Awareness Training: Develop and deliver employee training regarding cybersecurity, secure information storage, professional communication, and cloud file sharing. Conduct technical new hire orientations and distribute ongoing security educational updates via weekly emails and all-hands meetings.
  • Help Desk & IT Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day IT support inquiries, resolving technical problems related to employee accounts, data systems, hardware devices, and software applications.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum experience (1+ years preferred) in an IT support, desktop support, or helpdesk environment, with a strong foundational understanding of cloud environments.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic exposure to Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams), cloud file structures, and identity platforms like Active Directory or Entra ID.
  • Growth Mindset: An absolute eagerness to learn, accept technical mentorship, and proactively grow into a high-level administrator capable of executing enterprise-level tasks independently.
  • Soft Skills: Patient, empathetic, and clear communication skills necessary for troubleshooting with non-technical users and conducting company-wide security training.
  • Location: Must be local to or able to reliably commute to our office in Merced, CA.
