Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Desktop Support Specialist to join our Fort Worth team. The ideal candidate will be either a recent graduate with a strong foundation in IT systems or have 3-5 years of hands-on experience supporting both Linux and Windows environments. This role focuses on providing technical support for Windows desktop and server systems along with some Linux workstations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide desktop and server support for Windows systems (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance). 
  • Assist users with software and hardware issues in both Linux and Windows environments. 
  • Perform routine system maintenance and updates across supported platforms. 
  • Monitor system performance and respond to alerts or issues as needed. 
  • Support end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with best practices. 
  • Maintain documentation of procedures, configurations, and system changes. 
  • Collaborate with IT team members on infrastructure improvements and automation projects. 
  • Participate in system upgrades and deployment of new technologies. 

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 3-5 years of experience in IT support roles. 
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of Windows desktop and server environments is a plus
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). 
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude. 
  • Strong communication and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python). 
  • Exposure to virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox, KVM). 
  • Knowledge of remote desktop and remote management tools. 
  • Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
