Our mission is to provide students with the academic skills and self-discipline needed for college and life success through high-quality instruction, intensive academic supports, and hard work. We are a new college preparatory elementary and middle school serving the students of Jackson, MS.
IT Specialist
Reports to: Business Associate/Operations
Hours: Part-time
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Addressing user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking issues
  • Walking staff through installing applications and computer peripherals
  • Asking targeted questions to diagnose problems
  • Guiding users with simple, step-by-step instructions
  • Conducting remote troubleshooting
  • Supporting technology inventorying and warranty processes
  • Testing alternative pathways until an issue is resolved
  • Customizing desktop applications to meet user needs
  • Recording technical issues and solutions in logs and creating technical documentation and manuals
  • Directing unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Following up with clients to ensure their systems are functional
  • Reporting customer feedback and potential product requests
  • Any other job-related duties assigned by management

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar role required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Successfully pass a background check passed, required
  • US Authorization to work
  • Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, like printers and scanners
  • Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Customer-oriented attitude
