Position Summary:
As a AEM full stack engineer on our team within Optum Technology, you will lead front-end focused digital engineering efforts to craft responsive, highly accessible, and intuitive enterprise applications. In this role, you will build modern digital experiences utilizing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service, React, GraphQL, and headless architecture. You will harness AI technologies and AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate delivery, automate solutions, and optimize front-end performance, shaping the future of digital health interactions across our platforms.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop modern, responsive, accessible, and high-performance front-end web applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and modern build tools
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale digital experiences utilizing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service, Headless CMS architectures, Content/Experience Fragments, and GraphQL APIs
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions and leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, enhance digital experiences, and drive continuous engineering productivity
  • Integrate front-end applications with backend Java/OSGi services, REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native platforms to deliver seamless omnichannel experiences
  • Ensure web applications comply with WCAG accessibility standards, SEO guidelines, Core Web Vitals, and performance optimization practices
  • Evaluate emerging trends and AI-assisted development practices to inform front-end architecture, solution design, and strategic innovation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, UX, Architecture, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-quality customer experiences in an Agile environment
  • Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, platform optimization, CI/CD deployment automation, and production troubleshooting to ensure platform reliability and scalability

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of web application development experience
  • 3+ years of front-end development experience using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and modern front-end build tools
  • 2+ years of hands-on AEM development experience with AEM 6.5 and/or AEM as a Cloud Service
  • 2+ years of Java development experience within AEM frameworks (OSGi, Sling Models, Servlets, REST APIs, Maven)
  • 1+ years of experience with AEM Headless CMS, Content Fragments, GraphQL APIs, and API-driven architecture

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
  • Experience with Next.js, modern state management frameworks, and advanced front-end testing tools
  • Experience with AEM Cloud Manager, Dispatcher, caching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, SonarQube)
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and promoting engineering excellence through technical leadership
  • 1+ years of experience implementing WCAG accessibility standards, SEO best practices, and Core Web Vitals optimizations
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing AI technologies, GenAI APIs, or AI-assisted development tools to improve digital solutions or engineering productivity

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $72,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
