Our challenge

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Lead Java Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing scalable, robust enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices architecture, Kafka, and Angular. Ideal candidate will play a vital role in designing, developing, and implementing complex solutions, leading technical initiatives, and driving best practices.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA is$110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-level web applications and services.

  • Architect and develop microservices using Java with Spring Boot, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and maintainable.

  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with various systems and third-party services.

  • Develop, test, and deploy front-end applications using Angular, ensuring a responsive and user-friendly interface.

  • Work with Kafka for event-driven architecture, stream processing, and real-time data ingestion.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers within the team.

  • Implement best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation.

  • Participate in architectural discussions and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Strong professional experience in Java full stack development.

  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.

  • Hands-on experience working with Kafka and building event-driven systems.

  • Proficiency in front-end development using Angular (version 8+ preferred).

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is advantageous.

  • Solid understanding of API design, data modeling, and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to architect scalable solutions.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (Jenkins, Maven, Git).

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
