Summary:
  • Work as a senior member of a Scrum team to execute the overall quality plan for one of Charles River's products.
  • Provide support and assistance to customers and other teams within Charles River.

  • We are looking for a strong software engineer to build out the next generation of our software test automation infrastructure as part of our Quality Assurance Infrastructure team.
  • The candidate will be responsible for developing, delivering and supporting the software infrastructure that enables automated product validation.
  • This position provides services for planning and the execution of central automated regression runs. In addition, this candidate is responsible for maintaining and expanding the labs which host both automated and manual testing as well as conducting staging and certification of the product media during the ship-stage of a release.
  • Financial services industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the scrum master, product owner, architect, business analysts, product specialists, developers and other project team members to assist in carrying out the software quality responsibilities of the Scrum team
  • Create comprehensive test automation scripts from business requirements and functional specifications documents for product features of moderate complexity
  • Execute manual and automated functional, integration, regression, and performance tests
  • Maintain automated and manual test script libraries for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
  • Align with the Software Development Life Cycle practices, comply with Information Security and Data Governance practices
  • Interpret results of automation tests and document software defects in issue tracking system; proactively communicate issues with developers and other project team members
  • Provide testing leadership by identifying opportunities for improvement in the Scrum team's QA methodology, innovate by researching and recommending new approaches to automation of testing, including use of Artificial Intelligence
  • Adhere to a testing schedule to ensure efficient and effective product delivery
  • Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the CRD Scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
  • Participate in "testathon" activities as required by releases
  • Guide and mentor junior staff in proper creation of automated test scripts.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study or Business with an MIS background. MS degree strongly preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in software testing within a process-driven technology environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Java programming for developing and maintaining automated test scripts.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data validation, debugging
  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and executing automated test scripts for web, desktop, API, and batch applications.
  • Proven ability to create and execute test cases and scripts using automated testing tools for multi-tier applications.
  • Capable of translating business requirements into detailed functional and technical test plans.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies, preferably 5+ years.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and data quality is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with financial domain and third-party data providers such as Bloomberg, Reuters, MSCI, and rating agencies is a plus.

Salary Range:
$65,000 - $113,750 Annual
