Junior Programmer/Analyst

Location: 231 Hill Road, Rome, NY 13440

Position Type: Full Time
The Opportunity: Junior Programmer / Analyst
Consistent with the credit union mission of providing our members the right financial services to live life, dream big and achieve financial success, the Junior Programmer/Analyst you will
  • Support AmeriCU in implementing the strategies established by management by playing an integral role in the analysis, design, development, documentation, implementation and support of applications for all areas of the organization, across single or multiple systems.
Junior Programmer/Analyst Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Creates and modifies reports, maintenance programs, forms and documents to meet business requirements as defined by Business Systems Analysts
  • Works with Business Analysts to evaluate, develop, test, and document report generation and requests for new or modified programs by applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems
  • In conjunction with Business Analysts, interfaces with other credit union divisions and other MTS areas to research, makes recommendations, implement and support new programs or changes to existing programs and software integration to address business needs
  • Works with vendors to implement new programs and software and troubleshoot any issue with existing programs, software or file issues.
  • Responsible for operational activities such as automation of processing and file transmissions. Provides support for daily, monthly, quarterly amp; year end processes, routine database maintenance including release and service pack installation, backups and purges
  • In case of program defects, data errors, equipment failure or processing errors, takes corrective action based on documentation and vendor support and ensures completion of processing
  • Works with Programmer/Analysts to develop necessary skills for programming, troubleshooting, implementing and supporting all processes, programs and software integrating with the core system
  • Reports all problems having significant impact on schedule programs and problems not resolvable using standard or prescribed corrective measures to the Manager, Core Processing or Chief Information Officer.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
