Job Description: JOB SUMMARY
This is a mid-level mechanical position with experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Prepare detailed design of projects in compliance with governing codes, regulatory requirements, and client standards.
Develop project scope definition for project proposals and awarded work.
Solve problems by using a combination of standard procedures, modification of standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments.
Complete and coordinate independent studies, analyses, interpretations and conclusions.
Give technical guidance to junior engineers
Ability to status project and track progress against schedule and budgets.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Experience developing and approving pipe specifications.
Strong experience in design, specification, application, and modification of rotating and fixed equipment, such as:
Pressure vessels
Heat exchangers
Pumps
Compressors
Turbines
Experience in:
Equipment drawing review and approval
P&ID development and review
Material selection
Piping layout
Pipe Stress Analysis.
Strong working knowledge of ASME pressure vessel and piping codes, API and other industry standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of inter-discipline requirements
Strong organizational skills.
Strong understanding of consultant engineering workflow and project execution.
Strong computer skills - Microsoft Applications (Word/Excel) and engineering software programs, such as CAESAR II, COMPRESS, and FEA programs.
Capable of some travel and remote site assignments.
Applicants must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university or equivalent
3+ years engineering experience – preferably in the petrochemical industry with a strong background in Oil and Gas Production and Refining, Gas Compression and Transmission.
PE preferred but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to sit for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
Field trips to job sites (local and/or remote) will be required, so applicant must be open to travel and remote site assignments
