Summary of the Job:

This 8-10 month internship opportunity is within our Partnership Data & Modeling (PDM) Department in the Consumer Banking Group. PDM is a critical department in our organization, managing the development and implementation of a multitude of analytical tools which enable our day-to-day decision-making processes for a variety of banking products.
As a Data Analytics intern, the student would complete real-life projects under the mentoring of analytics professionals within the department. The area of work will mostly focus on marketing and partnership analytics, but can be tailored to the student's interest, experience, and career goals.

About This Role:

Projects could include:

1. Data mining very large databases (tens of millions of records) using SQL and Python

2. Design and develop Power BI dashboards with clear visualizations to deliver dynamic reporting capabilities

3. Act as a junior data consultant to internal business teams by providing data driven insights to answer relevant business questions and data requests

4. Conduct exploratory data analysis on warehouse data to identify trends, anomalies, and insights that support strategic business initiatives

5. Assist in creating or validating AI tools including AI instructions, prompts, or verified queries to enable specific business units

Required:

  • Located in Omaha area

  • Applicant would be expected to work 8 hours on-site at least 3 days per week, and work at least 32 hours per week during the entirety of the internship

  • Graduate student or senior undergraduate in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics

  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience using one or more of the following programming languages: SQL, Python

  • Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship at any time in the future

The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

  • Experience with PowerBI

  • Exposure to agentic AI tools or LLM-based workflows

Work Environment:

It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week. We provide the tools and technology to ensure seamless transitions between work environments, supporting your productivity wherever you are. Please note that work location is subject to change based on business needs.
