Job description

Role Overview

The Senior/Staff UX Designer will own the end-to-end user experience across BrightAI's product surfaces - physical hardware devices, mobile applications, and web dashboards. This role is responsible for translating complex product requirements into intuitive, cohesive interaction models that work seamlessly across form factors.

This role is focused on the Stateful vertical and involves designing high-information density, configurable systems for B2B platforms.

The designer will partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers to define interaction patterns, information architecture, and visual systems that make sophisticated AI-driven products feel simple and usable. As a senior/staff IC, this person sets the bar for design quality, mentors other designers, and shapes how design operates across the company.

Candidate Requirements

Core Skills (Required)

  • 7+ years of UX design experience, with a portfolio demonstrating shipped products across multiple platforms
  • Strong experience designing B2B products and platforms, with a focus on data visualization, geospatial visualization, and visual experiences that are immersive and interactive.
  • Experience designing web portals or dashboards with complex data visualization, analytics, or infographics
  • Mobile application UX experience across iOS and Android
  • Strong systems thinking - ability to design coherent experiences that span hardware, mobile, and web without fragmenting
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous product requirements into structured user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs
  • Ability to work independently, drive design decisions, and collaborate directly with Product Managers and Engineers
  • Experience defining and maintaining design systems and component libraries

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience designing for AI-driven products or systems where outputs are probabilistic or generative
  • Experience designing white-label platforms where the UI adapts across multiple tenants or brands
  • Experience with conversational, voice, or multimodal interfaces
  • Experience leading design reviews, mentoring junior designers, or contributing to hiring
  • Background in industrial design, motion design, or front-end implementation is a plus
  • Experience designing UX for physical hardware devices, including onboarding, connectivity, setup, and data flow interactions
  • Significant startup experience (Note: Preference is for candidates with startup experience over those coming from large, non-startup companies).

Deliverables Expected from the Role

  • End-to-end user flows and interaction models spanning hardware, mobile, and web
  • High-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes
  • Information architecture and navigation systems
  • Dashboard and data visualization design
  • Hardware onboarding and device pairing experiences
  • Mobile app screens and patterns for iOS and Android
  • Contribution to and stewardship of the design system
  • Design specifications and close collaboration with engineering through implementation
  • Usability testing plans and synthesis of user research findings
