SUMMARY

The Electrical Systems Engineer III leads the design, integration, analysis, and modification of aircraft electrical systems for commercial and/or military aviation programs. This senior-level position provides technical leadership for aircraft modification efforts involving AC/DC power distribution, data buses, audio systems, and electrical integration while mentoring junior engineers and supporting complex engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate has extensive aviation experience, strong technical expertise, and the ability to lead projects from concept through certification and production.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead the design and analysis of aircraft electrical systems for new installations, modifications, and retrofit programs.
  • Develop and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and engineering documentation.
  • Design and analyze complex AC/DC power generation, distribution, and protection systems.
  • Lead the integration and analysis of aircraft data bus architectures and communication systems.
  • Design, integrate, and troubleshoot aircraft audio, communication, and electrical systems.
  • Perform electrical load analyses, fault analyses, wire sizing calculations, and system verification activities.
  • Lead technical investigations and resolve complex electrical design and installation issues.
  • Support aircraft modification, repair, retrofit, and certification programs from concept through implementation.
  • Serve as the technical lead on engineering projects and provide guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate with Structural Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and Customers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Review engineering changes, approve design revisions, and maintain configuration control.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, design reviews, and certification activities.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables comply with customer requirements, FAA regulations, and aerospace industry standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, design standards, and product reliability.
