Job Summary:
TRC Companies, Inc. is a pioneering firm that combines engineering with innovative technology to deliver solutions for a variety of clients. The Lead GIS Architect role involves leading the design and implementation of enterprise GIS solutions while contributing to business development and client engagement efforts.
Responsibilities:
• GIS System Architecture: Lead the architectural design and implementation of enterprise-level GIS solutions on both VM based and cloud native platforms. Develop and deploy scalable, resilient, and adaptable GIS solutions to meet current and future business needs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS systems, data, and services into broader technology initiatives.
• Enterprise GIS Administration: Execute enterprise ESRI system deployments within client platforms, data centers, or cloud environments. Lead role installing and configuring ArcGIS Portal, Web Adaptor, Datastore, Hosting Server, PRO, and other components of the Enterprise Esri stack. Deploy Enterprise Esri databases and all components in a highly available, fault-tolerant solution.
• Client Engagement: Act as a technical liaison between the GIS team and client IT and business leads, providing insights and solutions to address their geospatial, system, and business challenges. Conduct client presentations, workshops, and demonstrations to showcase our GIS capabilities and services.
• Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the geospatial technology sector. Build and maintain relationships with clients, understanding their needs and aligning our GIS capabilities with their business objectives. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute strategic plans for business growth. Publish articles, blogs, technical interviews, and conference presentations to support raising our profile as innovation focused solution designers.
• Proposal Development: Work closely with the proposal development team to create compelling proposals and bid responses. Ensure that technical solutions align with client requirements and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 10+ years of experience in GIS system design and architecture.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise Esri Environments.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud based and cloud native architectures.
• Proven experience in business development within the geospatial technology sector.
• Experience designing and implementing GIS software
• Experience in utilities and/or distributed asset-based solutions
• Experience in integration with EAM (SAP or Maximo), OT Systems (ADMS, OMS)
• Ability to translate business requirements to a proposed technical solution.
• Ability to lead teams of software developers, GIS analysts, and junior architects on large, multi-workstream programs.
• Ability to execute all phases of the custom solution delivery process (design/build/test/release/support).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Passion for staying current on emerging technologies and identifying opportunities for innovative solutions that solve challenging problems for our clients and the industries we serve.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
