Civil Engineer - Design
Location: Conyers, GA / Charleston, SC / Raleigh, NC / Savannah, GA / Remote (Hybrid options available)

Position: Civil Engineer - Design
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Engineer II to join our Civil Engineering team. This role supports a wide range of civil engineering projects, including site development, grading, roadway design, and hydrology. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently under the guidance of senior engineers while contributing to project execution, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform civil engineering design and analysis for site development, grading, roadway, drainage, and utility projects.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, technical calculations, reports, and specifications with limited supervision.
  • Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D and related software to develop design plans and construction documents.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses to support stormwater management design.
  • Coordinate with architects, surveyors, structural, environmental, and geotechnical engineers.
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Perform fieldwork including site inspections, construction observation, and data collection.
  • Assist with project fee development and support small project leadership efforts.
  • Mentor and assist junior engineers and designers as directed.
  • Communicate proactively with project managers regarding scope, schedule, and budget considerations.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (or equivalent international degree).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Passed FE and PE exams administered by NCEES.
  • Typically 7–10+ years of civil engineering experience, depending on education background.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with hydrology and hydraulics software.
  • Familiarity with federal design criteria (UFC, DoD, VA) or willingness to learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel and attend client or project meetings as needed.
  • Pre-employment drug test, background check, and valid driver’s license required.
