Summary
As a key member of a team that has standardized its AI SDLC practices , the Senior Full Stack Developer will drive the entire software development lifecycle of assigned software components. This includes requirements gathering, development, testing, and deployment, all within a SAFe Agile framework. A core responsibility will be expertly leveraging AI-powered development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, to significantly enhance productivity, accelerate code generation, and elevate code quality across all phases of development. The Senior Full Stack Developer will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining high-performance, seamlessly integrated applications that support our core mission, while also championing the effective adoption of AI best practices and fostering continuous innovation and learning within the team.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Application Development & AI Integration: Develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications, including dashboards, process automation tools, and interface applications, using Java, JEE, Spring/Spring Boot, Angular, and other relevant technologies. Actively utilize AI-powered coding assistants (like GitHub Copilot) to rapidly prototype features, generate boilerplate code, write unit and integration tests, and assist in refactoring efforts across the full stack.
  • Full Development Lifecycle Ownership: Hands-on role with extensive involvement in the full development lifecycle, including design, development, unit testing, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of applications.
  • AI Best Practices & Mentorship: As a senior member, champion the effective and responsible adoption of AI development tools across the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation in AI-assisted development. Mentor junior and mid-level developers on best practices for leveraging AI coding assistants.
  • Prompt Engineering Expertise: Employ advanced prompt engineering strategies to maximize the efficiency and accuracy of AI-generated code, reducing development cycles and time-to-market.
  • Microservices Architecture: Design, develop, and maintain API microservices that are scalable, resilient, and secure.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other developers, testers, and stakeholders within a SAFe Agile environment.
  • Modernization: Drive the migration of monolith applications to the latest microservices architecture.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in full-stack development using Java/JEE.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, JEE, and related technologies, including Spring/Spring Boot and Angular frameworks.
  • Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience utilizing AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) in daily development workflows to significantly enhance productivity, accelerate code generation, and improve code quality across both front-end and back-end development.
  • Expert understanding and practical application of prompt engineering techniques and AI Prompt Templates for optimizing AI code suggestions and effectively guiding AI tools to produce desired, secure, and efficient outcomes for complex tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Apache Maven, JBoss Enterprise Application Platforms, and cloud-native application hosting.
  • Expert Proficiency and hands-on experience with UI frameworks such as Angular, Bootstrap, jQuery, and DataTables.
  • Experience with Java Persistence API (JPA) and Hibernate ORMs.
  • Availability during core business hours of 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience integrating AI development tools into existing IDEs (e.g., VS Code, IntelliJ) and contributing to the automation of development tasks through AI assistance.
  • Experience supporting US federal government contracts.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Camunda is a plus.
  • Experience with integrating USWDS compliant components with Angular storybooks is a plus.

The proposed salary range for this role is $135,000 to $150,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
