As a Product Designer, you'll bring ideas to life-transforming concepts into real, manufacturable products that reach customers around the world. Working side-by-side with engineers and cross-functional teams, you'll play a key role in shaping the next generation of Wahl products through creativity, precision, and innovation.
What You'll Do
In this hands-on role, you'll support the full product design lifecycle-from concept to production. Your day-to-day will include:
- Product Designer for new or existing product components based on directions from Project and/or Design Engineers.
- Uses CAD system to create new models for prototyping and production.
- Collaborates with manufacturing and QA to design parts for tooling, assembly and quality.
- Utilizes drafting practices and standards for detailed drawings creation.
- Perform Tolerance Analysis and apply GD&T to define the design and drawings.
- Participate in DFM and Tooling Reviews with vendors to refine the design. 7. Creates and evaluates functional prototypes for design reviews and analysis.
- Revise existing product components or assembly design for continuous improvement upgrades.
- Supports design and drawing revisions, ECN's and completes implementation of changes.
- Utilizes part inspection tools like micrometers, calipers, comparators and other measuring equipment.
- Assigns part tolerances and knowledge of tolerance stack-up for component assembly.
What You Bring
- Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in 3D Part & Surface Modeling and 2D Detailed Drawings.
- Preferred CAD tools – NX, SolidWorks, Creo.
- Experience in GD&T and Tolerance Analysis.
- Experience in designing injection molded, casting, stamped and machined parts.
- Experience with DFM and Tooling reviews.
- Good organizational skills, detail oriented and good communication skills.
- Good collaboration skills to act as a team player.
