Are you looking to get your hands dirty doing full stack development on an innovative project critical to national defense? If so...this is for you!
Ampersand Solutions Group (AMPERSAND) requires a Junior Full Stack Software Developer to develop a new capability to enhance weapon system cyber resiliency.
Scope: Responsible for designing, developing, testing, verifying, sustaining, and fully documenting developed software. Develops complex software applications involving user interfaces (UI), various automation techniques, structured and unstructured database development, external tools integration, large language model integration, containerization (Docker), and GitLab CI/CD. You will work with the application Product Owner to decompose Use Case entities into implementable software requirements. Responsible for software development and testing for our functional, compliance, security, and architectural requirements. You will troubleshoot issues related to software deployment in a lab, cloud, and airgapped environment. Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application functionality and testing tools. Develop software documentation, run books, user manuals, and technical reports. Works with project leads, developers, and end users to ensure application designs meet mission requirements. Matures the use of DevSecOps in automating product delivery while maintaining collaboration with security, assurance, and product owners.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 0-3 years of relevant, related experience plus:
    • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in engineering, science, or other relevant field or:
      • Associates Degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution plus 2 years relevant, related experience
      • High School Diploma / GED from an accredited institution plus 4 years relevant, related experience
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Clearance
    • Willing to periodically travel in support of test events
    • Hands on development experience with modern software languages and databases (structured and unstructured
    • Hands on experience with containerization technology
    • Hands on experience with cloud and commodity server application development/deployment
    • CI/CD experience (ie GitLab)
    • Support the customer on-site at Redstone Arsenal at Huntsville, AL 5 days a week.

Desired Qualifications
  • ACTIVE DoD SECRET or TOP SECRET Clearance
  • Experience supporting US aviation and missile systems
  • Experience developing using VSCode, Python, React, Tailwind, Typescript, Azure, GitLab, and Docker
  • Experience developing in an agile approach using scrums and sprint development cycles with regular releases and peer code reviews
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
