About TMO,
The Mortgage Office is the most trusted loan management platform in private lending. Founded in 1978, we power the full loan lifecycle for over 1,100 lenders, including private money firms, CDFIs, nonprofits, and government agencies, servicing more than $190 billion in loans.
We're recognized as G2's #1 Loan Servicing Software and Capterra's Best Ease of Use. With offices in Huntington Beach and San Mateo, we're now building the next generation of AI-native lending tools, and hiring a Senior Front End Engineer to help lead that work.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled front-end-focused Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic development team. As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for building beautiful, scalable, responsive user experiences using React and other latest front-end technologies, while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Our platform leverages Next.js, React, MUI, Zustand, React-Query, and C#, MSSQL .
What You'll Own
  • Architect, develop, and continuously enhance scalable, high-performing web applications built on Next.js and React that handle complex business workflows, with a focus on performance, maintainability, and user experience.
  • Work with product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and create solutions that impact our customers, borrowers, and internal users.
  • Convert UX/UI concepts into functional prototypes and production-ready code, leveraging reusable component libraries and MUI design systems following industry best practices.
  • Lead code and design reviews, and mentor junior engineers, including establishing standards around AI-assisted development workflows to ensure consistent code quality and velocity.
  • Drive adoption of agentic development practices using tools like Claude CLI, structured markdown specs, and AI-assisted code generation.
  • Collaborate with QA to ensure comprehensive test coverage and assist in diagnosing and resolving issues, including leveraging AI tooling for faster root cause analysis.
  • Partner closely with backend engineers to design and integrate reliable APIs, optimize frontend-backend data flows, and ensure seamless end-to-end application performance across the full web stack.

What You Bring
Required
  • 5+ years of strong frontend engineering experience with deep expertise in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern web application architecture.
  • Deep expertise in component-based architecture, React hooks, and modern state management, hands-on experience with Zustand, React Query, or similar lightweight state and data-fetching libraries preferred.
  • Proficiency with MUI (Material UI) and experience building, scaling, and maintaining reusable, composable design systems and component libraries.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end web application workflows, including frontend-backend integration, API-driven development, authentication flows, performance optimization, and production-grade application delivery.
  • Comfort working in an AI-assisted development environment, including prompt-driven workflows, markdown-based specs/documentation, and CLI tools such as Claude CLI or similar AI coding assistants.
  • Solid understanding of modern CSS, responsive design, accessibility standards, and front-end performance optimization techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving, technical communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Benefits & Perks
  • Competitive compensation (Base: $150,000 - $165,000) + Bonus
  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision)
  • 401(k) matching
  • Wellness programs
  • Professional development
  • Employee recognition programs
  • Team building & on-site amenities
