Position Goals
• The Junior Accountant will report directly to the Executive Director of Accounting Operations
and will provide for the orderly and efficient recording and reporting of financial data in accordance with federal, state and local requirements. The Junior Accountant will provide fiscal and managerial control of institutional accounts in conformity with AICPA Audit guidelines and in accordance with the mission and purpose of Camden County College.

Job Description
  • Assist the Executive Director of Accounting Operations in maintaining the accounting records for all unrestricted and restricted funds of the College.
  • Assist the Executive Director of Accounting Operations with the year-end closing and audit process.
  • Record receipts and issue checks for Student government and Athletic funds.
  • Analyze the budget to actual for Student government and Athletic funds.
  • Assist in the development of new data systems (new releases in some cases) and enhancement of existing data systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of billings to the County for capital projects.
  • Enter Data into Finance Enterprise as requested.
  • Retrieve invoices and supporting documentation necessary for financial reporting, internal audits, and grantor invoicing.
  • Assist the Finance and Planning department as needed.
  • Assist in Maintaining the interfaces between the student systems and the finance system
  • Responsibility for carrying out all other additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Accounting Operations.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• One to three years progressive work experience in accounting and educational experience preferred.
• Strong experience with computerized financial systems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong automated system experience including Word and Excel.
