With Enterprise Services adoption growing more we are seeking an experienced Principal Business Analyst to lead complex initiatives that enable scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise solutions.
In this highly visible role, you will partner with business leaders, architects, engineers, and enterprise data teams to deliver innovative solutions that support the firm's strategic priorities.

Job Description

This position follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation to be in the office 3 days per week at the St. Petersburg, FL Corporate Office location.

Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Solution Leadership

  • Lead requirements for discovery, analysis, and documentation for enterprise integrations, APIs, platform enhancements, and strategic initiatives.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, Product Backlog Items (PBIs), and acceptance criteria.

  • Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and cross-functional workshops to ensure alignment between business and technology teams.

  • Define business processes, business rules, SLAs, SLOs, and end-to-end functional scenarios.

Enterprise Integration & Data Analysis

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Services and Enterprise Data teams to design scalable API-based solutions.

  • Develop API specifications, interface contracts, data mapping documents, and source-to-target data lineage.

  • Analyze complex financial data using Oracle databases to support new functionality, production investigations, and root cause analysis.

  • Maintain integration documentation using the Apigee API Developer Portal and internal knowledge repositories.

Testing, Delivery & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop functional test scenarios and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Validate business functionality before and after production deployments.

  • Support release planning, ServiceNow change management, and post-deployment validation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, reduce operational risk, and enhance delivery efficiency through standardization, automation, and comprehensive documentation.

  • Mentor junior analysts and promote Agile and business analysis best practices.

Skill: Strong knowledge of

  • Client assets and liabilities

  • Securities positions and portfolio accounting

  • Equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, options, structured products, alternative investments, and cash equivalents

  • Trade lifecycle, including execution, allocation, clearing, settlement, corrections, and post-settlement processing

  • Cost basis, tax lots, wash sales, corporate actions, realized and unrealized gains/losses

  • Performance reporting, benchmark reporting, portfolio analytics, and reconciliation

  • Financial reporting, operational controls, and regulatory initiatives

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • 10+ years of experience as a Principal Business Analyst, Lead Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role.

  • Experience within financial services, wealth management, brokerage, custody, clearing, asset management, or securities operations.

Business Analysis Skills

  • Expert in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and documentation.

  • Proven experience writing User Stories, managing product backlogs, and defining acceptance criteria.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex business and technical challenges.

  • Experience facilitating cross-functional discussions and influencing stakeholders across multiple organizations.

  • Experience mentoring analysts and driving Agile delivery practices.

Preferred experience includes:

  • Advanced SQL, preferably Oracle

  • RESTful and SOAP API testing using Postman and SOAP UI

  • Azure DevOps (TFS), ServiceNow, Splunk (Nice to have)

  • Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, lookups, macros)

  • Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, and Access

  • API integrations, JSON, XML, data validation, and log analysis

  • Data mapping, reconciliation, source-to-target validation, and data lineage

  • Experience with AI-powered productivity tools, generative AI, or low-code/no-code automation platforms

  • Exposure to Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar analytics platforms is a plus
