Job Description Summary:
To perform accounting and treasury-related work in support of daily cash operations, bank reconciliations, cash application, banking activity, and general accounting support to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, and operational support.
Job Description:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Responsible for daily cash posting and cash application activities, including follow-up on unidentified or unapplied deposits
• Monitor bank activity and assist with investigation and resolution of discrepancies by interfacing with internal departments, banks, customers, or vendors
• Prepare assigned journal entries and supporting documentation
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and research outstanding or unreconciled items
• Maintain accounting records, schedules, and supporting documentation for assigned areas of responsibility
• Assist with intercompany cash transfers and related accounting entries
• Support Treasury operations including wires, ACH activity, bank account maintenance, positive pay, and online banking platforms
• Assist with month-end close activities related to cash and treasury functions
• Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with development of procedures and workflow enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Track and follow up on outstanding transactions requiring additional research or action
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation as needed
• Maintain strong attention to detail and ensure compliance with internal controls and company procedures
• Provide timely and professional support to internal business partners regarding cash and banking related inquiries
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned
MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
• Minimum two years of accounting experience
• Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, debits and credits, and financial controls
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience with ERP systems and banking platforms preferred
• Construction industry experience a plus
