Job description


This is a key position to support the forecast execution of over ~$13B in annual deposit net interest revenue. This position will require close interaction with others teams including Treasury, Product & Pricing, Technology, CFOs, Corporate Planning & Analysis (P&A), Corporate Treasury & Chief Investment Office (TCIO), Controllers, and other line of business finance teams.
As a Deposit Forecasting and Analytics Associate within consumer banking, you will understand key promoters such as accounts, customer rates paid, transfer funds pricing (FTP), balances, debit card transactions, overdrafts, and investment flows. You will also be accountable for developing best in-class analytics around deposit growth and NII drivers to support forecasting and month-end reporting. Additionally, the analytics derived from these exercises will be used extensively by the business to inform strategy as well as by the Corporate Treasury and Chief Investment Office to develop funding, capital, interest rate risk (IRR), and asset-liability management (ALM) frameworks.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the planning & analysis (P&A) teams for the execution of the forecast and the monthly reporting deliverables
  • Partner with the model analytics team to understand model drivers and derive analytical frameworks for forecasting deposit balances and customer rate paid
  • Stress, sensitize, and troubleshoot forecast model results to ensure reasonable outcomes
  • Advancing the team's data capabilities in order to provide senior management more insights into deposit trends
  • Present forecast updates to LOB CFOs, Pricing, Treasury and other key senior partners
  • Timely address ad-hoc requests from senior management

Required Qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required (finance, economics, statistics, math)
  • 3+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: financial analytics or reporting, treasury or pricing analytics at a large financial institution or management consulting firm
  • An outstanding ability to analyze problems, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), and work well in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to find relationships and identify patterns in large datasets and to see business implications of findings, and translate into concise, insightful, and actionable recommendations
  • Aspiration to become a future leader and manager of others at the firm

Preferred Qualifications, skills, and capabilities:
  • CFA or Master's degree preferred
  • Familiarity with basic statistics and analytical tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Python, R, and SQL is a plus
