Job description

The Role

We're looking for a Junior Applications Developer to help build and extend our internal manufacturing systems. You'll work on custom software platforms, develop tools that support production operations, and create automations that improve business processes.

This role requires engagement beyond the desk. You'll spend time on the shop floor understanding how conveyors are built, collaborate with the people who use your software daily, and see your work running on displays across the facility.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain internal business applications using React, Python, and PostgreSQL
  • Build features for our manufacturing software platforms that support project tracking, scheduling, and production workflows
  • Create integrations and automations that connect different parts of the business
  • Work directly with manufacturing staff to understand problems and deliver practical solutions
  • Participate in shop floor operations to gain firsthand knowledge of our products and processes

What We're Looking For

  • Genuinely curious about how things work — software, manufacturing, business processes
  • Learns by doing and comfortable figuring things out independently
  • Takes initiative and ownership of projects
  • Enjoys building things that solve real problems
  • Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues

Technical foundation:

  • STEM degree preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 0-3 years of development experience (personal projects count)
  • Familiarity with Python
  • Basic understanding of web development concepts
  • Exposure to SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with Git version control
  • Understanding of REST APIs

Nice to have:

  • Experience with React or TypeScript
  • Familiarity with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks
  • Interest in manufacturing or industrial systems
