Senior Project Manager - Licensed Site Remediation Professional

About This Opportunity
PVEDI - A Stratus Team Company is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our environmental consulting team and drive the success of complex environmental engineering projects across the Northeast. In this key leadership role, you'll manage high-impact projects related to real estate due diligence, site assessment, and site remediation while mentoring junior staff and contributing to business development initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in environmental compliance and remediation while working with a collaborative, forward-thinking team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage environmental consulting projects supporting NYC operations, with additional support for Hudson Valley and Western PA teams, including real estate due diligence, site assessments, and site remediation initiatives
  • Identify and pursue new client opportunities, develop additional work within existing projects, and actively participate in business development meetings with prospective and current clients
  • Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff on assigned projects; coach, train, and motivate team members to achieve project excellence and professional development
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of environmental consulting staff
  • Prepare accurate project invoices and maintain timely communication regarding scope changes, timeline adjustments, and any factors impacting billable hours, rates, and client expectations
  • Prepare, review, and ensure quality of site assessment reports, remedial action work plans, remedial action reports, and engineering designs
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and city regulatory requirements; satisfy both regulatory and lender requirements for environmental conditions
  • Stay informed of Company and OSHA-mandated safety guidelines; assist with ensuring team members have appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and required training per client specifications
  • Review technical field staff reports and work products for accuracy, completeness, and professional quality
  • Interface professionally and effectively with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, and project personnel
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and needed
Required Qualifications
  • Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) credential or equivalent environmental consulting credentials
  • Proven experience managing environmental consulting projects from inception through completion
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in project management and technical report preparation
  • Professional experience with real estate due diligence and site remediation projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing projects across multiple states and regulatory jurisdictions
  • Background in business development and client relationship management
  • Experience with field investigation supervision and oversight
  • Knowledge of environmental engineering design principles
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior environmental professionals
  • Familiarity with project management software and tools

Required Skills
Minimum of bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, etc., and/or applicable work experience.
10+ years of practical experience with environmental investigations and remediation projects;
New Jersey Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP)
or prepared to obtain license within 2 years, required.
The position is based in New York, NY but will be primarily remote in New Jersey and will often involve travel to project assignments. Some project assignments may be in the Hudson Valley or eastern Pennsylvania area.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Job requires the ability to navigate over rough terrain, urban, rural and industrial sites. Must have a valid driver's and safe driving record. Must also be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer, operating a computer keyboard and general office equipment.
