Coating Technician Junior

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Coating Technician Junior to support our industrial coating operations. This entry-level role offers valuable hands-on experience in surface preparation, coating application, and equipment operation, working closely with senior technicians. The ideal candidate will assist in ensuring high-quality protective coatings on metal and industrial surfaces, following safety protocols and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in cleaning, sanding, grinding, and degreasing metal surfaces to prepare them for coating.
  • Apply protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and conventional spray equipment under supervision.
  • Set up work areas and coating stations efficiently and safely.
  • Support quality-control activities to ensure standards are met.
  • Follow established work instructions, safety guidelines, and hazardous-material handling procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work environments and equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.

Requirements:

  • CSEC certification with passes in Mathematics and English, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Basic knowledge of paint mixing, spray application, surface preparation, hand tools, grinders, and sanders is preferred.
  • Candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in industrial painting, coating, or related work may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and work effectively under the supervision of senior technicians.
  • Ability to work safely and follow all safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Additional certifications or experience in industrial painting or coating are a plus.
