Job description

Qualifications:

  • BSEE or BSEET degree
  • Experience designing electronic circuits with Altium or PADS software
  • Experience with LED products, power supplies, or motor driver design
  • Working knowledge of serial communication controls, CAN, or other serial-type integrated firmware
  • System understanding of vehicle/power/control systems - understanding how to design a circuit and how it works upstream and downstream
  • Strong time management and project management skills
  • Collaborative and communicative with ability to take initiative and reach out for information
  • Ability to utilize schematic capture and PCB layout applications (preferably PADS) to create and verify designs
  • Willing to support cross-functional teams including SMT and Sourcing
  • Experience designing with microcontrollers, simulation software, and familiarity with automotive lighting requirements and regulations (SAE, ECE, FMVSS) preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop LED products for harsh environments and stringent EMI/BCI requirements for automotive, motorcycle, UTV/ATV, and similar applications
  • Develop moderately complex concepts for customer inquiries and RFQs, and represent Electrical Engineering in cross-functional teams to evaluate feasibility and costs
  • Develop concepts into manufacturable designs incorporating DFMEA, DFM/DFA, regulatory standards, and optimized manufacturing processes
  • Communicate directly with customers and suppliers on technical issues, and manage timely completion of all necessary engineering elements for new product development
  • Mentor junior team members, lead by example, create and improve design standards and best practices, and implement effective problem-solving for product development
