Hybrid 3 days onsite / 2 days remote in Rockville, MD

Our client seeks a full stack developer to build and maintain applications across UI, services, and data layers in a regulated financial context. The role requires proficiency with Java Spring Boot, Python frameworks, Angular or Vue.js, PostgreSQL and document databases, and AWS. The developer will apply AI-assisted development practices and integrate LLM capabilities using platforms such as AWS Bedrock. The work will support scalable, secure solutions and collaboration within Agile teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications from UI through middle tier to data layer.
  • Build responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using Angular or Vue.js.
  • Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java with Spring Boot and Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • Design and manage relational and NoSQL data stores including PostgreSQL and document databases such as Amazon DocumentDB or MongoDB.
  • Architect and deploy applications on AWS using services such as Lambda, ECS, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation, and CDK.
  • Leverage AI-powered coding tools to accelerate development workflows.
  • Build and integrate LLM-powered features using AWS Bedrock or similar platforms.
  • Participate in large-scale document analysis and intelligent data extraction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Agile and Scrum ceremonies.
  • Design and maintain end-to-end automated test suites using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the stack, including database query optimization, API response tuning, front-end rendering, and JVM or Python profiling.
  • Write unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews, and uphold engineering best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers through reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing.

Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional full stack development experience.
  • Proficiency in Java with Spring Boot and Spring MVC, and Python with FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
  • Hands-on experience with Angular or Vue.js for front-end development.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and document databases such as Amazon DocumentDB or MongoDB.
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS services including EC2, Lambda, S3, ECS or EKS, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Amazon Q Developer or Kiro.
  • Practical experience building applications that integrate LLMs, preferably using AWS Bedrock.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience with end-to-end test automation using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Ability to performance tune applications including query optimization, API latency reduction, front-end profiling, and load testing.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with large document analysis, intelligent document processing, or text extraction at scale (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation patterns and vector databases (preferred).
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or Developer Associate (preferred).
  • Experience in financial services or regulatory technology (preferred).
  • Knowledge of prompt engineering and LLM fine-tuning techniques (preferred).
  • Experience with Terraform or AWS CDK for infrastructure management (preferred).

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or Developer Associate (preferred).
