About Us: Winningham & Fradley is a 45+ year Professional Civil Engineering firm in the Broward County area. We offer a wide range of Civil Engineering services, specializing in land development, planning, and surveying for residential, commercial, and industrial properties. We provide general consulting services and regulatory review, as our clients are in both the public and private sector.

Job Description: We are seeking a Professional Engineer (P.E.) to join our team. The responsibilities will include the design, planning and management for a diverse range of civil engineering projects. The projects are for new construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, and regulatory review.

We are looking for this dedicated team member whose education, experience, and knowledge of the principles of civil engineering will lead to the next level with an established and well-respected engineering firm.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Plan and design (CAD) a variety of projects including master, conceptual, and final engineering site and construction plans.
  • Field visits of several construction sites that are underway to become familiar with the services we provide.
  • Review and interpret plans and specifications for construction projects.
  • Prepare construction quantity estimates, cost estimating and assist with project bidding.
  • Review shop drawings and review and prepare record drawings.
  • Prepare various engineering calculations.
  • Prepare or assist with due diligence reports and feasibility studies.
  • Research records from governmental agencies needed for design and planning services.
  • Prepare Stormwater Management calculations with accompanying reports.
  • Prepare engineering plans, profiles, cross sections, details, specifications, etc.
  • Design water distribution, sewer collection & transmission systems, pumping stations, paving, grading, pavement markings, and drainage systems design.
  • Prepare project permit applications for regulatory agencies.
  • Review surveys, geotechnical and other reports.
  • Prepare or direct in the preparation of CAD exhibits and maps needed for project presentations.
  • Prepare project close-outs and certifications.
  • Provide regulatory review, as consultant, for plans and permit applications submitted to our governmental clients.
  • Manage projects and train junior staff as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited four-year college or university for Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license in the State of Florida (required).
  • Ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Ability to apply good engineering principles when performing calculations related to project planning and design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills when interacting and corresponding with intra-office staff, clients, contractors, governmental agencies, and the public.
  • Strong ability to provide and follow instructions and for problem solving.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to supervise subordinates.

Job Type:
