Superintendent - Commercial Construction


Primary Function: The superintendent is responsible for overseeing production as well as the scheduling and coordination of all other on-site construction activities, safety programs and quality initiatives.


Location: Upper Mid-West Department: Field Operations FLSA Status: Various


Educational Background: College degree in construction related field preferred - High School Diploma accepted.


Practical Knowledge: Construction Means & Methods, Math and Complex Calculations, Critical Thinking as it applies to the breakdown and interpretation of Specifications and Plans, Critical Path Planning, Material Scheduling, Data Analysis, Organizational Methods, Writing Skills, Leadership and Communication.


Work Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant trade experience on commercial or industrial construction projects as a Foreman responsible for crew management, document review and production - or - post-secondary study resulting in Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree.


Computer Skills Applied: Microsoft Office Products, Basic knowledge of Scheduling Software, Total Station.


Successful Personality Traits: Proactive, trustworthy and organized leader with strong work ethic, well developed interpersonal skills and above average verbal communication ability.


Travel: Long term assignment to job site location which could be further than a reasonable commute distance from home.


Direct Reports: Varies


Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($80,000-$120,000), company truck, company paid cell phone, health insurance, medical and dependent care flex spending account options, 401(k) with employer match, PTO, and paid holidays.
