Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Dev/Systems Engineer to join our team at SWIFT VA. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust and scalable systems, bridging the gap between development and operations to ensure seamless delivery and performance of our critical applications. You will play a key role in optimizing our infrastructure, automating processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities**
* Design, develop, and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions in collaboration with development teams.
* Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive solutions to ensure optimal operation.
* Troubleshoot complex production issues across various layers of the technology stack (application, infrastructure, network).
* Develop and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
* Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems.
* Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve system efficiency and reliability.
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the team.
* Ensure security best practices are integrated into all system designs and operations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and architectural solutions.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 7+years of experience in a Dev/Systems Engineering, DevOps, or SRE role.
* Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
* Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Solid understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
* Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
* Proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems.
* Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S).
* Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is $101,303 USD Annual to $188,135 Annual USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
