Job description

What You'll Do:
 
At Valkyrie, Derivatives Traders are responsible for operating our proprietary trading system and being fully responsible for day-to-day PnL and risk.  You're directly facing the market every day and seeing the immediate impact of your decisions.  After completing our rigorous training program, including several weeks of live trading, you'll join an existing team to continue learning how to successfully manage our trading strategies.  From there, your responsibilities will only grow, as you perform and operate under the supervision of a senior trader.  
What You'll Need:
  • Degree in mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science or equivalent

  • Passion for the financial markets

  • Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Entrepreneurial attitude with a keen attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to make split-second logical decisions in a high-pressure environment

  • Competitive drive and the maturity to handle considerable responsibility

  • Capability to quickly recover from mistakes

  • Quantitative & Data Analysis skills 

  • Python or R programming experience 

  • Be eligible to start a full-time role within the January 2027 - August 2027 timeframe.
  • Must have valid, ongoing, unrestricted authorization to work in the United States without the need for employer-sponsored or self-initiated immigration filings.

Salary range

  • This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
