Job Summary:
As a Database Administrator, the successful candidate will perform database administration tasks with minimal guidance from senior staff, for the implementation and operation of a variety of database systems and applications running on Linux and Windows server platforms, containers and Azure. These tasks which are in direct support of TRS' software development, data analytics, and application teams include creation of data fix scripts, database design, database analysis, database information assurance and security, database installation, database configuration, and database performance monitoring and tuning. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring junior staff.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform database administration assignments essential to the implementation and operation of database systems and applications running on Linux and Windows server platforms
  • Support the complete software development life cycle from conception to deployment in an Agile environment. Including but not limited to creation of DDL and data change scripts as part of the iteration activities aligning with current Database standards
  • Support data replication processes and reporting environments
  • Improve indexing strategies
  • Support ETL/ELT processes
  • Review and ensure database integrity using standardized support tools
  • Ensure tasks are performed in accordance with database administration guidelines, standards and procedures for application development, implementation, testing, and migration
  • Modify and test changes to previously developed database artifacts
  • Support automated testing and provide feedback to team leadership
  • Support both DevOps and Database Feature development
  • Review and update documentation for processes, data models, and other database artifacts using standardized tools
  • As directed, partner with teams to document cataloging, lineage, and data stewardship, while ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.
  • Perform troubleshooting, debugging and upgraded of TRS database management systems as directed
  • Be available to troubleshoot SQL Server service outages even after- hours and weekends
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 3+ years of database administration experience with SQL Server
  • 3+ years of complex SQL/DDL script creating and performance tuning experience
  • Experience with database design and implementation
  • Experience with data replication
  • Understanding the difference between OLTP vs OLAP, Object Oriented and Relational database design, and STAR, Snowflake, Galaxy Schemas structures.
  • ETL/ELT Experience

Compensation will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of each candidate.
