CYBERSECURITY ANALYST INTERN

Job Description:

OSS is seeking a transitioning Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) or Junior Military Officer with a background in cybersecurity and government environments who is eager to build expertise in Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) compliance within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). This SkillBridge opportunity is designed for candidates interested in pursuing a career in CMMC assessment, auditing, or implementation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with cybersecurity operations, compliance, or risk management and is motivated to deepen their knowledge of frameworks such as CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, and other federal security standards.

Job Requirements (Skills necessary):

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or IT compliance
  • Experience working in a government, DoD, or federal contracting environment
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171, NIST 800-53, RMF, or similar
  • Basic understanding of security controls, risk management, and audit processes
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • US Citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a DoD security clearance

Job Preferences (Skills desired but not necessary):

  • Exposure to CMMC requirements or readiness efforts
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, or cloud security in regulated environments
  • Familiarity with audit artifacts, control validation, policy documentation, or evidence collection
  • Relevant certifications (CCP, CySA+, CISM, CISA, CISSP, or similar) are a plus
