Job description

Job Summary:
This role supports the Commercial Credit Admin team by performing credit, financial statement, and cash flow analysis, business loan approvals, and other related department support functions.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform analysis of financial statements and tax returns by utilizing software systems
  • Draw conclusions and make recommendations to management for approvals or declines as a result of the financial analysis performed.
  • Assist in the preparation of loan write-ups and credit presentations.
  • Review the initial loan packages submitted by Commercial Relationship Managers for completeness and adherence to underwriting guidelines and requirements.
  • Request and track for additional information as required by lending guidelines. Input loan data and prepare loan documentation for various types of Business Loans.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Relationship Managers to clarify loan structuring and borrower financials.
  • Support the on-going verification and regular tracking of members' credit quality through periodic review of credit reports, analysis of required financial information, and any other approval conditions.
  • Assist in annual reviews of existing credit relationships to monitor risk and covenant compliance.
  • Reviews member accounts and portfolios in order to identify and act on potential credit quality issues in order to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss to the company.
  • Review credit files for completeness and adherence with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Track collateral, loan monitoring and credit file maintenance requirements and correct any deficiencies noted.
  • Develop forms, templates and other monitoring tools to assist in all of the above functions.
  • Provide recommendations to management about process improvement opportunities to continually enhance member experience and internal service.
  • Other duties as assigned by Commercial Credit leadership
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of commercial loan documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with commercial loan documentation preferred
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of commercial lending environment
Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field required or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • 3+ years' experience in commercial credit underwriting, credit underwriting, or commercial lending required
  • Experience in utilizing systems to analyze tax returns and financial statements and in drawing sound conclusions/recommendations preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit analysis, credit administration, credit policy, and risk analysis preferred.
