ARCH Motorcycle Company was founded in 2011 to challenge the perception of what an American motorcycle could be. Anything that compromises the ride, aesthetics, stance or function is treated as an opportunity to innovate and improve the design. ARCH owners seek more than just a machine. They are passionate individuals in search of a completely immersive riding experience. Every ARCH motorcycle is built from an obsession for innovative design, engineering excellence and dedication to the rider.
As a Junior Designer you will perform design visualization from initial mock-up renderings to final sketch illustration. You will be asked to generate 3D rendered views of design proposals as well as graphic themes for customer selection. In addition, you will be expected to manage our CMF libraries and help develop our CMF design methodology as well as provide support to the design and production teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have a diverse skill set and be motivated to join an agile design team for a growing motorcycle brand.
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Visualize client design proposals in Keyshot, Blender, or equivalent
  • Manage and develop both virtual and physical assets for ARCH CMF process
  • Manage bespoke client design process and relevant digital and physical design assets
  • Support ARCH's Design Team with product development
  • Deliver necessary digital assets and references to the build team to ensure physical production matches the approved design.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Education: Degree in Industrial Design or Transportation Design from an accredited program.
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating relevant coursework, concept development, and design execution.
  • Core Skills: High-level hand and/or Computer Aided Sketching ability
  • 2D-to-3D Translation: Demonstrated ability to capture the design intent of a 2D sketch/concept into a 3D model
  • Software Proficiency:
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
    • 3D Modeling software (Solidworks, Fusion 360, Alias, Blender, Maya, or equivalent)
    • Rendering software (KeyShot, VRed, or equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Aesthetic Sensibility: A strong eye for graphic design, branding, and color/material/finish (CMF) trends.
  • CMF Focus: Passion for color, material and finish, and CMF portfolio content.
  • Software Expertise: High proficiency in digital rendering and real-time visualization software.
  • Material & Shader Creation: Experience with custom shader creation, material building, and lighting setups to achieve hyper-realistic product visualization.
  • Advanced Modeling: Advanced 3D modeling or digital surface development skills.
