Job description

Based in West Hartford, CT, Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls is a leading independent aerospace system supplier for the commercial and military helicopter and business jet markets and employs approximately 500 employees. The Company's key products and services include electronic engine controls, fuel metering units, main fuel pumps and environmental control systems for both the OE and aftermarket/spares end markets.

Responsibilities

Salary Range: $78,7000 - $118,100/year

Position Summary: The Test Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining equipment used to test the functionality of electronic engine control units for the aerospace industry. Job duties include providing a broad range of hardware/software/systems design, development, testing, repair, up-grade, and maintenance services in support of manufacturing and engineering test equipment.

Project Management responsibility for managing Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) development projects from conception through implementation. Design creative electronic hardware/software solutions. Write test plans, procedures, and reports based on industry test standards. Analyze, develop, and deploy high performance hardware and software solutions. Design, develop, debug, validate, and verify the fabrication of manual and automated test equipment. Develop and maintain documentation including schematics, software documentation, and configuration deliverables. Maintain existing test systems through bug fixes, improvement, and modifications. Provide product line support functions. 

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years market research experience including leading global projects and/or project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree electrical engineering, computer science, systems engineering. Master's preferred.
  • Experience with electronic manufacturing processes and automated test systems.
  • Significant experience implementing complex test and development procedures.
  • Ability to design creative electronic hardware / software solutions.
  • Experience using LabVIEW graphical programming language a must.
  • Familiarity with electronic test equipment, Visual Basic, C++ and DOS based systems used in the aerospace industry is preferred.
  • Able to read and understand printed circuit board schematics, firmware code, and optical specifications.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in failure analysis and troubleshooting electronic circuits.
  • Experience and knowledge with MIL-STD 810, MIL-STD 461 and DO-160 Specs, environmental testing including temperature, vibration, shock, and electromagnetic interference.
  • Must be able to communicate well with both manufacturing and R&D personnel.
  • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel 5-10%.
