About the Job

The CAD & Permitting Associate supports the Sales, CAD, and Production teams by preparing accurate event layouts and coordinating required permits before installation begins. This role helps ensure event sites are properly measured, drawings are production-ready, and permit applications are submitted with complete and accurate information.

The position combines technical drafting with permit coordination and includes both office-based work and occasional site visits. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage several projects and deadlines at once.

What You'll Do

  • Communicate with fire departments, permitting agencies, and local jurisdictions to support timely permit approval
  • Track permit deadlines, fees, application requirements, and approval status
  • Maintain organized permit records, agency contacts, fee schedules, and jurisdiction-specific requirements
  • Conduct venue site surveys and collect accurate measurements for layouts and venue templates
  • Create and revise CAD layouts, floorplans, and renderings using company drafting standards
  • Prepare drawings and layouts used by Sales, clients, and Production teams during event planning and installation
  • Revise layouts based on client requests, site conditions, or operational updates
  • Maintain accurate venue templates, CAD files, and drawing libraries
  • Review drawings and permit documents for accuracy, consistency, and production readiness
  • Collaborate with Sales, CAD, and Operations to meet project timelines and resolve missing information

What You Bring

Required

  • Experience using CAD software, drafting tools, or technical drawing programs
  • Ability to read measurements and create accurate layouts, floorplans, or technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and follow-through when tracking permits, revisions, and project information
  • Ability to learn and follow company drafting standards, technical systems, and permitting procedures
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with Sales, CAD, Operations, clients, and local agencies
  • Ability to travel locally for site surveys, venue walkthroughs, and field measurements as needed
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, and use measuring tools or related equipment during site visits
