Sedgman is currently seeking a Process Engineer to join their team in Montreal, Quebec 

The ideal candidate will have prior experience providing process engineering support to an engineering design team, helping deliver high quality projects to clients.  As part of the process team, this individual will be responsible for the daily involvement in calculations, drawings, reviews, reports, modelling and client support activities; all will be required.

Responsabilites principales :

  • Fournir un soutien a la conception de processus tout au long des phases d'ingenierie PEA, PFS, FS, conception conceptuelle, ingenierie initiale et conception detaillee.
  • Elaborer, ameliorer et promouvoir l'utilisation efficace des systemes operationnels (i.e. JDE, SPRS, Synergy, Aconex, SMS, Dochub)
  • Depanner et resoudre les problemes de processus.
  • Elaborer des schemas de processus et preparer des criteres de conception de procedes.
  • Preparer les calculs de processus, PFDs, bilans de chaleur et de materiaux et P&ID.
  • Dimensionner l'equipement de traitement et elaborer des specifications.
  • Coordonner avec les autres ministeres pour assurer des operations securitaires et efficaces
  • Etre au courant des progres de la technologie de traitement minier et recommander la mise en uvre de nouveaux equipements ou procedes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide process design support through the engineering phases PEA, PFS, FS, conceptual design, front-end engineering and detailed design.
  • Develop, improve and promote the effective use of operations systems (i.e. JDE, SPRS,  Synergy, Aconex, SMS, Dochub)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
  • Develop process flow sheets and prepare process design criteria.
  • Prepare process calculations, PFDs, heat & material balances and P&IDs.
  • Size process equipment and develop specifications.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Will be up-to-date with advancements in mining processing technology and recommend implementation of new equipment or processes 
  • Additional duties as required

Exigences:

  • Baccalaureat en genie (traitement des mineraux, metallurgie ou chimie)

  • Aura de 5 a 10 ans d'experience en conception en genie des procedes.
  • Doit detenir le titre de l'Ordre ou etre en voie d'obtenir l'agrement d'ingenieur de l'Ordre.  

  • Experience prealable dans une firme d'ingenierie / conseil est requise.

  • Connaissance approfondie du genie des procedes, de l'equipement et des technologies.
  • Une experience en traitement chimique et mineral est fortement souhaitee.

  • Bonnes competences en communication avec des aptitudes ecrites et orales bien developpees.

  • Capacite a travailler en equipe.
  • Aptitudes de reflexion critique. Exigences linguistiques : Excellent francais parle et ecrit. Excellent francais parle et ecrit. De bonnes competences en anglais parle sont requises en raison de contact quotidiens avec le client, les fournisseurs, les partenaires d'affaires et les collegues bases a l'exterieur du Quebec.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Disciplines)
  • Will have 3 -5 years of relevant process engineering design experience 
  • Must be in the process of registering for their Professional engineering designation or have their OIQ.   
  • Prior experience in an engineering / consulting firm is required

  • In depth knowledge of process engineering, equipment, and technologies in the mining industry is required

  • Chemical and mineral processing experience is highly desired.
  • Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
