Junior Sustainment Test & Evaluation Engineer

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities. The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force's Space Systems Command (SSC). We support the Space Force's acquisition of state-of-the-art Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) systems, providing global secure protected communications for our Nation's warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems. KBR (formerly LinQuest) is the prime contractor on the MSEIT contract. KBR is seeking a Junior Sustainment Test & Evaluation (T&E) Engineer to support a Space Systems Command (SSC) Program Management Office (PMO) located at Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO. We conduct Operations & Sustainment (O&S) activities for state-of-the-art Military and Commercial Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) systems, providing global secure, survivable and protected communications for our Nation's warfighters.

We are looking for an innovative, creative and highly-motivated Junior Sustainment T&E Engineer to provide test & evaluation planning, execution and assessment activities coupled with terminal operations for a diverse set of strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems and NC3 capabilities/infrastructure. The ideal candidate will employ their skills and experience to tackle technical challenges and drive executable solutions for legacy and transitioning strategic and tactical space-based telecommunication capabilities. The ideal candidate will conduct T&E activities using established/proven government processes and procedures for independent verification and validation of new hardware/software changes to technical baselines. Work in a state-of-the-art laboratory with multiple to effectively and efficiently test system upgrades/improvements. Join our high-functioning, high-performing MSEIT Sustainment Integrated Product Team (IPT) and be an important part of directly and positively affecting Joint and Allied combat readiness as they employ SATCOM and NC3 space systems, terminals and software applications worldwide during full spectrum military operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, plan, coordinate, and execute testing on the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T), Global Aircrew Strategic Network-Terminal (Global-ASNT), Time Distribution Subsystem Pre-Processor (TDSPP), MILSATCOM Messaging System (MMS), Global Broadcast Service (GBS), and various other MILSATCOM and NC3 systems, subsystems and devices

Provide engineering and technician-level support, including integration, communication circuit troubleshooting, system-level anomaly resolution, and identification and isolation of software or hardware defects to evaluate/assess system modifications for shortfalls or interoperability issues and provide technical assessments to the client with regards to the modifications

Author and deliver technical documentation including test plans, test procedures, system configuration diagrams, engineering studies, technical white papers, and test reports

Travel Requirements: Approximately 20%

Required:

Able to obtain/maintain a DoW SECRET or higher security clearance

Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or similar technical discipline from an accredited 4-year university

Proficient in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills

Preferred:

1-3 years leadership experience with DoW/USAF/USSF test processes and documentation

Familiarity working with DoW clients (military and civilian) and managing professional relationships

Experience in Developmental Test (DT) supporting a DoW Lead Developmental Test Organization (LDTO) or other test organization

Experience in Operational Test (OT) supporting a DoW Operational Test Agency (OTA) or other test organization

Experience operating or maintaining the following: FAB-T, MMS, Global-ASNT, GBS, cryptographic equipment (e.g., KIV-7M, KG-250), and/or related infrastructure/support equipment

Experience with the space domain, specifically with Narrowband, Wideband, and/or Protected SATCOM

Knowledge of DoW mission system sustainment processes

Possess International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) or Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification or higher

This position is 100% onsite on Peterson SFB's, Product Support Facility (PSF). Given mission requirements, this position is not eligible for formal hybrid or full remote employment options.

Basic Compensation:$71,000 to $89,000 in Colorado Springs, CO

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
