This hire will be a senior technical leader and project engineer who oversees complex assignments, leads junior engineers, and ensures technical excellence. This role manages the design, analysis, and implementation of MEP-T systems for medium to large projects, serving as the firm’s representative to clients for those projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design security systems including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection and security communications systems.
  • Consult with clients on security strategies for perimeter security protection, monitoring and system selections.
  • Coordinate with door hardware consultants for electronic security integration.
  • Coordinate design efforts working closely with in-house or external disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners.
  • Plan and perform the entire project production process.
  • Perform contract administration duties of site visits, submittal review, RFI response and coordination and contractor assistance.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • PSP or CPP preferred.

Experience

  • Five to Ten (5 to 10) years’ industry experience
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in the design of security systems is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Bluebeam required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Revit is required, including:
    • Solid understanding of the Revit design process, model relationships and families.
    • Setting up views, sheets, and working with families.
    • Creating installation details, riser and functional diagrams.
  • Experience with network design to support security systems is a plus.
  • Experience with risk and vulnerability assessments is a plus

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in access control system architecture, system components, communication protocols, and card technologies.
  • Expertise in video surveillance system architecture, camera technologies, and recording platforms.
  • Expertise in intrusion detection system architecture, system components and functionality.
  • Expertise in knowledge of security communication systems architecture, system components and technologies.

Leadership & Management Skills

  • Proven ability to mentor and lead junior engineers.
  • Skilled at delegating and overseeing technical work.

Communication & Business Skills

  • Strong client-facing and presentation skills.
  • Effective in leading technical discussions and resolving issue

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Serves as technical advisor and mentor to junior engineers and co-ops. May assign and review work under the direction of the Team Leader.

Work Environment

  • Office environment with periodic site visits for technical troubleshooting; adherence to safety protocols required.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods, operate office equipment, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs. Site visits may require navigating uneven terrain, ladders, and outdoor conditions.
