Labor & Employment Junior Associate

Houston, TX | 2–4 Years Experience | AmLaw 100 Firm

Direct Counsel represents an AmLaw 100 firm seeking a talented Labor & Employment Junior Associate to join its highly regarded national Labor & Employment practice in Houston.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated employment matters, complex litigation, investigations, and workplace counseling alongside an experienced team representing employers ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies.

The Role
  • Support employers in employment litigation, investigations, and advice & counseling.
  • Assist with matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage & hour issues, and restrictive covenants.
  • Conduct complex factual investigations and legal research.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, employment agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with discovery, court filings, and litigation strategy.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Work collaboratively with attorneys across the firm's national Labor & Employment practice.
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of employment, commercial, or complex litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research and exceptional writing skills.
  • Familiarity with court filing procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and fact-investigation abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple matters and deadlines.
  • Strong academic credentials and demonstrated work ethic.
  • Active Texas Bar membership in good standing required.
  • Federal clerkship experience is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
  • $235,000–$310,000 annual salary, depending on experience and qualifications.
