Job Title: Apigee Developer 
Job Location: Dallas, TX 
Job Type:  Contract 

Job Description:  

  • Write tests and documentation for technical deliverables such as code, scripts, and processes in alignment with organizational standards. 

  • Solve complex technical problems and build high-impact components and libraries. 

  • Deliver high-quality work while mentoring junior engineers on technical craftsmanship. 

  • Conduct root cause analysis, identify systemic issues, and drive action plans for long-term fixes. 

  • Design integrated systems that follow best practices and support scalable, reliable, and fast delivery across product teams. 

  • Oversee management of technical debt and lead initiatives to eliminate long-standing issues. 

  • Anticipate scalability, latency, and durability challenges; guide teams on effective mitigation approaches. 

  • Collaborate with the security team to embed security best practices early in the development cycle. 

  • Evaluate technical risks and implement practical prevention strategies. 

  • Review and improve squad delivery practices; recommend and execute enhancements. 

  • Identify opportunities for reuse and eliminate duplication of effort across teams. 

  • Assess team capability gaps and support development plans for team members. 

  • Research and explore emerging technologies. 

Required Skills & Experience 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (BS/BA). 

Experience 

  • 5+ years full SDLC experience designing, developing, implementing, monitoring, and supporting large-scale applications (on-prem and cloud). 

  • 2+ years working with API Management solutions for large enterprises. 

  • 2+ years' experience supporting/maintaining IBM DataPower appliances. 

  • Apigee hands-on experience is mandatory. 

Technical Skills 

Apigee 

  • API design, development, configuration, and troubleshooting in Apigee Edge. 

  • Implement API security and access control (SAML, Web SSO, SSL/TLS). 

  • Design API publishing guidelines and API product workflows. 

  • Implement OAuth 2.0, JWT, encryption/decryption. 

  • Experience with API consumer onboarding via Apigee Developer Portal. 

IBM DataPower 

  • Develop complex designs and strategies for DataPower Gateway. 

  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, authentication, and authorization issues. 

  • Understand PCI/PII compliance and data security for file transfers. 

Additional Skills 

  • Strong understanding of server-to-server communication in large-scale networks. 

  • Familiarity with Linux, ITSM workflow tools, and ticketing systems. 

  • Strong customer service orientation and communication skills (written & verbal). 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively. 

  • Experience developing automation for platform provisioning and self-service capabilities.
