Position Summary
The Operations & Logistics Specialist plays a key role in the daily success of our Janesville branch. This versatile, cross-functional role supports daily branch operations, handles local equipment and supply deliveries as needed, and assists customers directly at the sales counter. Designed for a proactive team player who thrives in a dynamic environment, this role ensures smooth inventory control, accurate delivery schedules, and exceptional customer service across every touchpoint.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Operations & Inventory: Coordinate daily operational activities, monitor inventory levels, process orders, and maintain stock accuracy to support branch growth.
- Delivery & Logistics (As Needed): Safely deliver customer orders, secure loads, adhere to municipal/state driving laws, and double-check order accuracy prior to departure.
- Sales Counter & Customer Service: Jump in at the sales counter to assist walk-in customers, process orders, and deliver knowledgeable, friendly service.
- Branch Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional team members to resolve operational issues quickly and maintain a clean, efficient branch environment.
- Compliance & Safety: Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, adhere to regulatory standards, and maintain company safety protocols.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Computer Competency (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with retail management/ERP systems.
- Knowledge of basic inventory management and supply chain practices.
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Ability to take direction, adapt quickly, and manage multiple priorities in a small branch setting.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Credentials and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of experience in retail operations, warehouse logistics, or customer service.
- Valid Class D license.
- Must successfully pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Screening.
Physical Demands
- Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing 40–50 lbs.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, crouch, and squat (including vehicle pre-/post-trip inspections).
- Stand, walk, and use hands/fingers for extended periods.
