Job description

CertaPro Painters is a leader in the residential and commercial painting industry throughout North America. We are an organization of professional painting contractors specializing in beautifying homes and buildings; interiors, exteriors, commercial, offices, and condominiums. Overview 
  • Quantify all items on a request for proposal (RFP) for commercial painting services.  
  • Prepare detailed, written estimates that not only fulfill the RFP but also ensure the best recommendations for the customer while ensuring a reasonable profit for the franchise.  
  • Assemble detailed written proposals for the sales team.  
  • Ensure that our customers’ needs, and their expectations are clearly communicated and accurately documented on a written proposal.  
  • Present CertaPro Painters to prospective customers to differentiate ourselves from our competition and to further enhance our ‘Brand of Certainty’.  
 
Responsibilities 
 ESTIMATING:  
  • Meet with customer, in person, whenever possible, to perform estimate and gather information about their needs pertaining to the execution of the project.  
  • Create a detailed and grammatically accurate written proposal for the commercial sales team which accurately, specifically and clearly defines both the needs of the customer and the expectations set forth during conversations between the customer and yourself.  
  • Take pictures of difficult production situations and/or customer service concerns during the estimate and insert into proposal.  
  • Ensure that the estimate allows for safe working practices and proper equipment in all circumstances.  
  • Measure commercial buildings for painting services (mostly repaints, but some new construction).  
  • Responsible for approving change orders for jobs in progress.  
  • Schedule customer inquiries (Leads) for Estimates. (Those that are not scheduled by the
  • Commercial Sales Associate, Office or The Customer Service Center.)  
  • Participate in all Company sponsored shows and events.  
 PRODUCTION:  
  • Upon landing the job, communicate clearly to the production staff the most up to date scope of work and the needs of the customer.  
  • Assist in assigning the most appropriate crew to jobs based on their past performance, preferences and abilities.  
  • Assist in the management of the Production Board (White Board and/or Notes Scheduler)  
  • Ensure all landed jobs are “handed off” to the Job Site Supervisor in person and the Certainty Pledge is reviewed.  
  • Ensures that the Job Site Supervisor (JSS) is clear on the scope of the job:  
  • Customer needs/expectations are reviewed.  
  • Safety and Set Up issues are reviewed. 
  • Establishes a tentative Finish Date for the job.  
  • Ensure that crews are producing jobs at or above Projected Gross Margin.  
  • Facilitate the resolution of Customer Complaints in a timely manner.  
  
Qualifications and Skills
  • 2-year degree in related field required 
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation and valid insurance.  
  • Exceptional communication skills with a friendly, positive demeanor 
  • Strong written/verbal skills, to include proof-reading and basic math skills for estimating 
  • High attention to detail and a strong work ethic 
  • Basic computer skills 
  • Proven record of ability to set, meet and exceed goals 
  • Must speak, read, and write English - Spanish speaking skills helpful but not necessary 
  • Previous experience in the paint industry preferred but not required 
  • Meticulous, clean, detail-oriented and taking pride in your work. 
  • Results driven 
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday with some Saturdays and some nights depending on the project.
