Washington, DC | Full-time | Contingent upon contract award
Job Description
Safal Partners is seeking a Project Manager to support a federal workforce development contract. The Project Manager will oversee all project tasks, manage key aspects of client relationships, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, timely project outputs. This role requires strong project management capabilities, the ability to supervise and develop staff, and growing ownership of client communication, strategic planning, and problem solving. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced consulting environment and has 6+ years of project management experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, workflows, deliverables, and resource allocations
  • Oversee development of major deliverables, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with client expectations
  • Serves as a primary client contact for major workstreams or project components
  • Facilitates high-stakes meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagements
  • Manages workflow, schedules, and communications across project teams and federal agency staff
  • Monitors budgets, level of effort, and project risks
  • Ensures compliance with internal processes and quality standards
  • Supports business development tasks as needed, including leading sections of proposals, technical writing, work plans, and staffing approaches
Required Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to work onsite in Washington, DC
  • Minimum of 6 years of project management experience, ideally within government consulting, education, workforce development, or a related field
  • Bachelor's or master's degree preferred in project management, Business, Education, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience managing project budgets and financial reporting
  • Working knowledge of education and workforce policies, regulations, and state or federal program requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills
  • Proven ability to identify challenges, develop solutions, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder groups with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related project management tools
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a background check with no evidence of federal, state, or local felony charges or convictions prior to assignment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading federal or state-funded workforce programs and initiatives
  • Experience managing large teams, multi-partner projects, or complex cross-functional workstreams
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
